Without title or the sorting of the frivolities sculpture (2011)

Three identical small sculptures are presented in a display cabinet, as if they were miniatures in their box. Odd objects made by assembling an used pacifier and a sink strainer, they create an homogeneous shape. One could think that both of them have been designed to fit together but in reality they create a useless object, escaping from a practical world. Remembering the bronze sink strainers of Marcel Duchamp, this phallic looking ready-made are carefully kept. They seem to appear to the contemplator’s eyes as vanities of pleasure, vanities of power and of riches.

Pacifiers, sink trainers, wood, mirror, red carpet, plexiglas. 30x22x31 cm
